Freshwater Pearl – Farmed and created using freshwater mussel, mainly in china. Each can produce 24-32 pearls.
Akoya Pearl – Only 2 pearls are produce from each of the Pinctada fucata martensii oyster, in Japan.
Akoya pearl are rare due to the low supply and high in demand for fine jewellery. Fine quality ones are even rarer with blemish-free and shape.
