Spiderman Ironman Wedding Rings

SpiderMan IronMan Wedding Rings: A Pigeon Blood Ruby Custom Commission

This commission came from a couple who happened to be longtime Marvel fans. The brief was specific: a wedding ring set where the bride’s ring took inspiration from Spider-Man and the groom’s from Iron Man, without either ring crossing into costume territory. Both rings needed to look like fine jewellery first and reference the characters second. The Spider-Man side became a twisted diamond band wrapping a heart-shape unheated pigeon blood ruby, with the diamonds cut to suggest a web. The Iron Man side became an octagonal band with a bluish spinel set as the arc reactor, flanked by baguette diamonds. Worn separately they read as well-made wedding bands. Worn together they tell the couple’s story.

Custom Design

The centre stone is a fancy-cut heart-shape unheated pigeon blood ruby, certified by GRS.

This customised engagement ring is where the Spider-Man reference lives. We designed a twisted diamond band where round brilliant diamonds and fancy diamond-cut follow a deliberate spiral to the heart-shape ruby, with the cuts angled so the light return mimics the radial geometry of a spider’s web.

The band also functions as the bride’s stackable wedding band. A separate geometric design with tapered baguette diamonds and pave-set round brilliants was made to flush-fit alongside it, so the bride can wear either the heart-shape ruby alone or the full stack depending on the day.

Custom Design

Iron Man’s arc reactor without being literal about it. A bluish spinel was the right answer. Spinel is one of the most underrated coloured gemstones in fine jewellery. The bluish hue we sourced for this commission has a slight electric quality that catches light the way the arc reactor catches light in the films, which is exactly the visual logic the groom was after.

The band itself takes the octagonal profile of the arc reactor housing. Eight clean facets around the finger rather than a continuous round shank. Tapered baguette diamonds flank the spinel on either side, which strengthens the horizontal axis of the design and gives the ring a sense of technological structure when viewed from above.

The angular silhouette is the kind of detail that reads as architectural to most observers and as Stark Industries to anyone who has watched the Iron Man films closely.

How the Set Works Together

A themed wedding ring set fails when the two rings only make sense as a pair. We designed this commission so each ring stands on its own first. The bride’s heart-shape ruby is a wedding ring that happens to reference Spider-Man. The groom’s bluish spinel band is a wedding ring that happens to reference Iron Man. Strip the references away and the pieces still read as fine jewellery worth wearing every day for decades.

Where the rings connect is in the shared design language. Both use coloured gemstones rather than centre diamonds. Both have geometric rather than organic band structures. Both lean into character through cut and silhouette rather than through engraving or surface ornament. When the couple wears them as a set, the connection reads visually. When they wear them apart, neither ring carries the cost of needing the other one in the frame.

Commission Showcase

This customised design was created exclusively for a GIOIA client and is not available for purchase.

Every stone listed here has been personally assessed by Clarence Yee, co-founder and gemstone specialist at GIOIA. Whether natural unheated or fine quality heated, no stone enters a GIOIA commission without passing his direct evaluation, examining colour saturation, crystal clarity, and cut precision under controlled lighting before a single design discussion begins. The certificate tells you what the laboratory found. Clarence tells you whether the stone is worth wearing.
