At the centre of this teal sapphire leaves diamond ring sits a 1.57ct unheated pear sapphire, a colour that lives in the space between blue and green and shifts in emphasis depending on the light. Teal sapphires are prized precisely because they refuse to settle on one colour, and an unheated stone like this one holds that quality naturally, with no furnace work behind it. The pear shape gives the stone a point and a direction, which the design uses to lead the eye.

The setting takes its cue from leaves. Round brilliant diamonds trace alongside the sapphire like dewdrops along a leaf edge, and the metalwork curves with the organic, slightly asymmetric logic of something grown rather than drawn. It is a botanical design without being literal, suggesting foliage through line and movement rather than carving an obvious leaf.

The choice of 18K rose gold completes the natural feel. Its warm pink tone softens the cool teal of the sapphire and gives the whole piece an earthy warmth, like the difference between a leaf in flat shade and the same leaf with sunlight behind it. White metal would have made it cooler and more clinical. Rose gold keeps it alive.
