Custom Design

At the centre of this blue green tourmaline double halo diamond ring sits a 1.36ct round blue green tourmaline in a soft seafoam shade that seems to glow from within. Around it, not one but two concentric rings of round brilliant diamonds form a double halo, and the band splits into a diamond-set shank that carries the sparkle down each side of the finger. The whole design is built to do one thing: make the colour the centre of attention.

The double halo is the heart of the piece. A single halo lifts a centre stone, but a second ring of diamonds around the first widens the frame and pushes the eye inward toward the colour at the core. The white fire of the diamonds sits in deliberate contrast to the cool blue green of the tourmaline, and that contrast is what makes the colour read as vividly as it does. Brilliance on the outside, soft colour at the centre.

The split shank keeps the proportions balanced. By dividing the band into two diamond-set rows as it meets the halo, the design gives the head visual support without crowding the stone, and it keeps the ring comfortable and secure for everyday wear. It is the balance of fresh colour and classic diamond sparkle, in a form meant to be worn rather than admired from a distance.

Double Halo Diamond Design

A halo does more than add sparkle. The ring of small diamonds around a centre stone creates a border of bright white that makes the colour inside it look deeper and more saturated by comparison, the same way a pale mount makes a painting’s colours sing. With a fresh blue green like this tourmaline, that effect is worth doubling. The second halo extends the band of white further, intensifying the contrast and giving the eye a clear path straight to the colour.

There is a practical benefit too. A double halo diamond ring increases the overall face, so a centre stone of a given size carries far more presence on the hand than it would alone. For a coloured stone where colour rather than sheer size is the point, a double halo lets a beautifully coloured tourmaline command a setting without needing to be large. It is a design that spends its diamonds where they do the most for the colour.
