Custom Design

At the centre of this ring sits a 3.24ct unheated teal sapphire, showing yellowish green and blue in the same stone, a bi-colour effect confirmed by GRS. It is a round brilliant, and the cut sends light through both tones at once, so the stone shifts between a cooler blue and a warmer green as the hand moves. Around it, sixteen round diamonds totalling 0.52ct are set in a starburst halo, each stone reaching outward like a ray so the whole head radiates light from the sapphire at its core.

The halo is arranged for movement rather than a plain even ring. The diamonds alternate in a rhythm that points outward, catching light at different angles as the ring turns, which gives the setting the look of a burst of light around the stone. It is a design that makes a large, already striking sapphire look larger and brighter still, and it frames the colour without ever competing with it.

Champagne gold is the choice that pulls it together. Softer than yellow gold and warmer than white, its muted tone picks up the green side of the sapphire and lends the whole ring an understated, vintage feeling, elegant rather than showy. Against that warm metal the diamonds stay bright and the teal stays cool, a balance of warm and cool that gives the piece a look both current and enduring.

What Makes This Teal Sapphire Rare

Teal sapphire already sits in the space between blue and green. This particular stone goes a step further: GRS certified it as bi-colour, showing two distinct zones, a yellowish green and a blue, within the same crystal. That zoning forms as the crystal grows through changing conditions deep in the earth, picking up different colour bands along the way. A skilled cutter then orients the rough so those zones read as one shifting colour rather than two separate blocks, which is a real test of judgement at the wheel.

That this stone is also unheated raises it further. Most sapphire on the market is heated to even out and deepen colour, a permanent and accepted treatment, which tends to blend away the very zoning that makes a stone like this interesting. This one has kept its two natural colours exactly as the earth grew them, and the GRS report confirms both the zoning and the absence of heat. For anyone drawn to a stone with genuine individuality, that combination is rare and hard to repeat.
